In the past I had always used a squeeze spray bottle to irrigate my nasal passages and it worked for me although it only held 8 oz. of water but when I had the pleasure of using this Medcodes Nasal Irrigation System that is waterproof rated, a rechargeable device and it has 3 adjustable power settings (soft, normal and pulse) plus it holds over 10 oz. of water for slightly more cleaning ability than my old squeeze spray bottle and with its' ease of use it just became my favorite sinus cleaner. I would suggest if you're not use to irrigating your nose you might consider beginning with the soft setting for a gentle cleansing and then later begin using the normal or pulse modes. Also just tilt your head with the open nasal passage down for the water to naturally drain out of.I had complained last week to my doctor about having heavier than normal nasal mucus drainage flowing down my throat and he recommended for me to irrigate on a daily basis in conjunction with a daily allergy pill as well to rectify my excessive drainage that was coming on towards Spring. I'm in hopes that after a week or so of irrigation I won't need to rely on the daily allergy tablets to clear up my heavy drainage but time will tell. It was also a nice inclusion by the manufacturer to include 30 packets of salt for a full month of usage. As I did with my old squeeze spray bottle as well as this Medcodes System I would recommend after the bottle runs dry then lower your head down to allow the excess water trapped in your nasal cavity to drain out and then I follow up by grabbing a Kleenex and blowing any loose mucus from my nose as well. There is not a doubt in my mind that this product rates an Overall Rating of 5 Stars and I can easily recommend that if you've never tried nasal irrigation before please give this device a try and I believe you will be glad you did...

I have wanted one of these for a while, but the price has always stopped me from getting one. I know that it would help me, with my situation. I always wake up really blocked up, and I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night because I have trouble breathing, due to my nose being totally blocked up. One of the wonders of getting older.I saw this, and I figured, why not. It was no where near as expensive as some of the other models, and I would grab it. I know people who have the name brand one, and they swear by it. I also know people who have been using the manual, old fashioned ones for years and years, and they also swear by them. So, here I am writing my review of this one.It is messy, until you master how to you position your head. Put a towel on your shirt, or do it in your bathtub or shower, when you are cleaning yourself in the evening. Breathe through your mouth, obviously, because you are shooting water up your nose. This will be shooting a decent amount of water and salt into your nasal cavity and sinuses, to flush as much as possible out.Start on the lowest setting, until you get used to it. The first time I used it, the amount of gunk that came out, kind of scared me. I didn't know how much was stuck inside me. However, after, I was breathing free and clear. It was like I was a new man.The device comes with a bunch of salt packets to use, but once they run out, you can just buy your own salt to add to it. Just use normal, no iodine salt. Also, use distilled water, or if you do not want to buy water, boil your tap water, and let it cool down, before you use it.For me, it has been very effective. Comes with a charger, and different sized attachments to shoot the water into your nose, although I did not notice much size difference in them.

Just by looking at the packaging, I felt this would be a high-quality device. The box contains; electronic nose irrigator, extra nasal dock for spray wash (water wash dock is already attached to the body), charging cable, 30 nasal rinse mix (this is mixed with water).Instruction for use is quite simple. Just fill the tank with filtered, distilled or previously-boiled water, then pour in the packet of nasal rinse mix (salt), then carry out the nasal irrigation. There are 3 settings – Soft, Normal or Pulse. It is recommended to start with Soft for the first time user.I’ve just had a first go at it. It was very easy to do without any discomfort. The best way to describe the sensation is like going underwater in a swimming pool. It wasn’t painful but just that sensation up my nose. I somehow imagined it was going to be messy, but it wasn’t. Just make sure you do it over the washing basin. It’s IPX7 waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about it getting wet. After the irrigation, my nose felt really clear. Again, there was no discomfort left. I did have to blow my nose several times to get rid of the water inside, and a bit of liquid streamed down even after several minutes. I wonder if my nose was slightly irritated because of the irrigation and it was the reaction? Apparently, it’s a common side effect. Liquid streamed down (on to the floor!) from my nose without any warning once again after a few hours, but only once. I’m not sure if this was the water left in the nasal passage, or if it was nasal discharge, but it gave me a surprise as it happened totally unexpected.I will definitely keep on using this, especially when my hayfever gets worse. I’m sure clearing the nose with this will help with the symptoms.

Works well, does what it says it does. My issue is it is not easy to clean out at all. You want to make sure you use quality water, not just tap water, and make sure to take it apart to clean right away after using.

I suffer from hay fever when pollen count is high. Using a neti pot definitely helps. This is the first time I am using something other than a neti pot IE this Medcodes Nasal Irrigation System electric rechargeable system of nose irrigation. It is early days yet to decide whether I prefer this over my neti pots. Having the water pulse up my nose rather than bending my head at an angle and manually being in control of the water flow is very different. I need to try it a few more times before deciding and will revert back.
